Telegesis, a British company specialized in ZigBee, announces ETRX3, the new ZigBee PRO module family, a revolution in the technology. Based on the new EM300 Ember chipset, is occupies 37% less area (25x19mm), consumes 20% less energy and has an improved total link budget, achieving up to 1km range (open space) in the standard version (ETRX3) or 3km (open space) in the long range version (ETRX3-LR).
Both ETRX2 and ETRX3 families are represented by complete modules, with complete ZigBee PRO stack. You can control it using easy-to-use AT commands thru it’s UART port.
Working at 2,4 GHz as well as Bluetooth and WiFi, one of the key benefits of the Telegesis ZigBee is the Mesh Network capability.
When working in Mesh the modules establish a network by themselves and each module can act as a repeater, improving wireless reliability and increasing distance range.
Telegeiss solutions are already in the new ZigBee PRO standard, offering additional benefits when compared to ZigBee / 802.15.4:
Network scalability: support bigger networks and offers easier management; Frequency switch: dynamic frequency change to avoid interference; Auto-Addressing: Optimized for bigger networks; Group addressing: allows traffic optimization; Centralized data collect: performance has been improved to allow centralized data reading.
